They are introduced to the concepts of supply and demand, budgeting, and international trade; learn about the first settlers in America and later emigrants who settled there; discover the different branches of the US government; and study the importance of being a responsible, Christlike citizen. Through Bible readings and slideshows, students also learn about the locations of biblical stories, how to use money wisely to help others, the importance of being content and seeking God’s kingdom first, the history of Israel including the Babylonian exile, the transformative nature of Christ’s work in us, and our role as citizens of both God’s kingdom and of secular governments.
