Elementary
Mathematics Grade 2
Elementary Mathematics Grade 2 builds skills in critical thinking, teaching students to use math to better understand the world God created. Engaging videos and slideshows offer rhymes, chants, songs, audio narration, and images to reinforce biblical and mathematical principles. This course covers addition and subtraction for two- and three-digit numbers, measuring shapes in imperial and metric measurements, and creating and reading graphs. Students learn to solve basic word problems involving currency, time, and 2D and 3D shapes. Through a series of Bible readings and slideshows, students also learn about the Ten Commandments, how to study the Bible, the wonder of God’s creation and our role as stewards, the importance of trusting God for all our needs, the Christian view of history, and the importance of living with integrity and wisdom. Students are offered an abundance of hands-on practice opportunities, as well as digital interactives, to support mathematical proficiency.
