AP Microeconomics

AP Microeconomics

In this course, students explore the power of marginal thinking from a biblical perspective and apply it to common decisions that individuals and business firms encounter each day. Students examine, interpret, analyze, and model key microeconomics concepts and processes, from the shifting supply and demand of familiar products to the model of the labor market and how wages are determined. Students learn that God calls us to live by a different “market system” in which a biblical worldview guides our decisions to ensure that our choices honor God and bless others. They learn how biblical principles are critical for governments to regulate both monopolies and competitive market forces responsibly. Students explore the biblical perspective on labor relations, immigration, resource allocation, among other economic topics. In the long run, taking AP® Microeconomics develops the critical thinking and analytical skills that empower students for a lifetime. As students participate in these activities, they become better consumers in the real world, as they use their resources for God’s glory and the good of others.

This course is designed to provide a college-level experience and prepare students for the AP® exam. Students wishing to take the AP® exam are responsible for registering prior to the November 15 deadline. AP® Exams are administered the following May.
